Infotype : Infotypes are data structures which store related HR data. Each Infotype is represented by a four digit number. Some of the important infotypes are basic pay (0008), Bank Details (0009), Address (0006) etc. Old data is not lost when an infotype is updated. Instead it is stored in the system so that it can be evaluated in the future, if need arises. A validity period is assigned to each infotype record. Due to this each infotype can have several data records that differ from each other by the validity periods assigned to them.
Report RPUAUD00 provides change data (change documents) for specified infotypes including information related to infotype deletion.
Table SGOSHIST provides information related to last time an infotype was accessed.

Personal Administration (PA) Infotype : These infotypes store attributes of a person. Some examples of PA Infotypes are Basic Pay (0008), Bank Details (0009), Address (0006) etc.
Organizational Management (OM) Infotype : Also known as Personal Planning (PP) infotypes. These store the attributes of an HR object, e.g. Department, Vacancy (1007) etc.
As already discussed earlier, infotypes are represented by 4 digit numbers. Hence they range from 0000 to 9999.
