Each Infotype is represented by a four digit number. Some of the important infotypes are basic pay (0008), Bank Details (0009), Address (0006) etc. Old data is not lost when an infotype is updated. Instead it is stored in the system so that it can be evaluated in the future, if need arises. \u00a0A validity period is assigned to each infotype record.
