A good understanding of these fields is strongly recommended for understanding HR authorization objects.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #4c4c4c;\">As we have discussed earlier in Authorization section, authorizations are grouped into authorization classes. Human Resource i.e. HR is also one of the authorization classes. Various HR authorization objects fall under the class <strong>HR<\/strong>.\u00a0We would be discussing some of the basic HR authorization objects which are used during HR General Authorization Checks in our next post. Our main focus in this post will be to understand SAP HR authorization fields which as is very necessary for understanding HR authorization objects.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><!--more--><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #4c4c4c;\">As already discussed, General authorizations are given to users via assignment of roles. Roles in turn, are created using PFCG tcode. Various Authorization Levels are:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><!--more--><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><strong>R<\/strong> (Read) : <span style=\"color: #4c4c4c;\">This gives &#8220;Read&#8221; access.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><strong>W<\/strong> Write) : <span style=\"color: #4c4c4c;\">This gives &#8220;Write&#8221; access.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><strong>M<\/strong> (Matchcode) : <span style=\"color: #4c4c4c;\">This gives &#8220;Read&#8221; access using F4 help. <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><strong>S<\/strong> (Symmetrical) : <span style=\"color: #4c4c4c;\">This gives &#8220;Write&#8221; access using Symmetric Double Verification Principle. (We will discuss about the Symmetrical Double Verification Principle later)<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><strong>E<\/strong> (Enqueue) and <strong>D<\/strong> (Dequeue) : <span style=\"color: #4c4c4c;\">These give &#8220;Write&#8221; Access using Asymmetrical Double Verification Principle. It comes under Personnel Administration and is identified by four\u00a0alphanumeric characters. E.g. A Personnel SubArea is identified by four alphanumeric characters. E.g. If Company locations (Zones) are Personnel Areas, then the various departments like HR (HR01), Finance (FIN1) etc can be Personnel SubAreas.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><br \/>\n<strong>PERSG<\/strong> (Employee Groups): <span style=\"color: #4c4c4c;\">Employees can be divided into groups using <strong>Employee Groups<\/strong> based on their relationship to the company. E.g. Employees can be divided into Active employees or retired employees.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><br \/>\n<strong>PERSK<\/strong> (Employee Subgroups): <span style=\"color: #4c4c4c;\">Employee Groups can be further subdivided into <strong>Employee Subgroups<\/strong>. E.g. Employee Group &#8220;Active&#8221; can be further subdivided into Trainees or Pay scale employees etc.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: verdana;\"><br \/>\n<strong>VDSK1<\/strong> (Organizational Key): <span style=\"color: #4c4c4c;\">Before we understand <strong>VDSK1<\/strong> (Organizational Key), lets understand a very important point i.e. An Organizational Key (VDSK1) is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>NOT<\/strong><\/span> an Organizational Unit. In standard SAP System, an Organizational Key is a combination of the personnel area and the cost center to which an employee is assigned. It is a 14-character field in infotype 0001 (Organizational Assignment) &#8211; the first four characters contain the personnel area and the next ten contain the cost center. The Infotype 0001 (Organizational Assignment) has time-dependent specifications.
